The Basics
Carpet tiles are individual squares — typically 500mm × 500mm — that are laid together to cover a floor. Unlike broadloom carpet, they're modular: individual tiles can be lifted, replaced or rearranged without disturbing the rest of the floor.
That makes them ideal for rooms where future access to the floor might be needed (cables, pipes), for rental properties where a tenant might damage one section, or for commercial settings where a spilled coffee doesn't mean replacing an entire room of carpet.

The EN 1307 classification system rates carpet for its intended use. Class 31 means "general commercial" — suitable for heavy domestic use and normal commercial environments such as offices, reception areas and meeting rooms. It's significantly more durable than standard domestic carpet.
It depends on the installation method and subfloor. A tack or peel-and-stick method is used in most commercial installations, allowing tiles to be lifted and replaced later. Fully-adhered installation provides more stability in high-traffic areas. We'll advise on the right method for your space.
Yes — that's one of the key advantages of carpet tiles. Damaged or heavily stained tiles can be lifted and replaced without disturbing the rest of the floor. We'd always recommend keeping a small number of spare tiles after installation for this purpose.
