Flooring Installation in Burnley

We fit flooring across Burnley, Padiham, Briercliffe and the surrounding villages. From older terraced houses in Burnley Wood and Habergham to newer builds on the outskirts — we know the housing stock and we know what works.

Flooring Specialists Serving Burnley

Burnley has a character all of its own — solid stone terraces, mill-era housing and a housing stock that demands a bit more care and thought than a standard new build. Many older Burnley properties have original flagstone subfloors or timber boards underneath the carpets. Subfloor preparation matters here more than almost anywhere.

We've fitted floors in properties right across Burnley — from Padiham Road to Rosegrove, from the town centre out to Barrowford and Nelson nearby. We always assess the subfloor properly before the floor goes down. No shortcuts.

Subfloor Preparation

Many Burnley properties have original flagstones or uneven timber subfloors. We assess, level and prepare properly — it's included in our service, not an extra.

We Know Burnley's Housing Stock

Burnley's older terraced properties aren't straightforward to floor. Original flagstone subfloors, uneven boards, damp in ground-floor rooms — these are things you encounter regularly here and less so in a new build estate in the south.

We've dealt with every subfloor situation Burnley can throw at a fitter. We know to check for moisture in older properties, how to deal with a flagstone subfloor correctly, and which products hold up best in an older home.

We're not a call centre. We're a local team. When you call us, you speak to someone who knows the area — and who'll give you an honest answer about what needs doing.

★★★★★
Didn't Cut Any Corners

"We have an older terrace in Burnley and I was nervous about fitting hard flooring because of the uneven floors. The team came round, assessed everything properly, levelled the subfloor before laying anything, and the finish is perfect. I was expecting problems — there weren't any. Really professional."

Common Questions from Burnley Customers

How do you deal with flagstone subfloors in older Burnley properties?
Carefully. Flagstones in older properties can be uneven, cold and sometimes damp. We assess moisture levels first. If damp is present, a DPM goes down before anything else. We then level with self-levelling compound to get within 3mm per 1800mm — the tolerance required for a stable floor installation. It adds time to the job, but it's the only way to get a lasting result.
Do you cover Padiham, Briercliffe and the villages around Burnley?
Yes — we cover all areas around Burnley including Padiham, Briercliffe, Nelson, Colne, Barnoldswick and further afield. If you're unsure whether we cover your postcode, just call us and we'll confirm.
Can you fit LVT over an uneven subfloor?
Not without levelling it first. LVT is thinner and more flexible than laminate — which means it actually shows subfloor imperfections more. Any variation over 3mm per metre needs to be corrected with self-levelling compound before installation. We include this assessment and any levelling work in our service.
