Our Story
Halvar Flooring grew out of a straightforward belief: that homeowners in the North West deserve proper flooring advice from people who actually know their trade — not a showroom full of salespeople on commission.
We're a family business, rooted in Lancashire, with more than 30 years of combined experience across every type of flooring you can name. We've fitted floors in Victorian terraces, new builds, open-plan kitchens, listed buildings, whole-house renovations and everything in between.
What we've learnt in that time is that the right product is rarely the most expensive one — it's the one that suits your home, your household, and how you actually live. We tell people that from the start, and we stick to it.
We work with a carefully vetted network of specialist fitters and we've built strong relationships with the UK's leading flooring brands. That independence means we recommend what's genuinely right for your home, not whatever earns us the biggest margin.

Lead Generation & Operations
David is the face of Halvar Flooring — the first person you'll speak to when you get in touch. He manages every enquiry personally, coordinates jobs from first call to finished floor, and makes sure nothing falls through the cracks. He knows that your home is important to you, and he treats every job accordingly.
Sales & Quality
Da brings deep product knowledge to every consultation. He handles home visits, helps customers navigate the full range of flooring options, and carries out quality checks on every installation before it's signed off. If you want to understand exactly why one product is better suited to your home than another, Da will give you a straight answer.
Canine Apprentice
Officially the most popular member of the team, Lyla attends home consultations whenever the customer gives the go-ahead — and she's never once complained about travel time. She has strong opinions on laminate versus carpet (she's firmly in the hard floor camp), a talent for testing underfoot comfort, and a 100% record of leaving customers in a good mood. Still working on the measuring tape, though.
How We Work
We don't employ a single in-house team and send whoever's free. Instead, we work with a carefully vetted network of specialist fitters — each matched to the job type, floor product and installation method required.
That means if you're having a solid wood floor fitted, the person doing it has spent years doing exactly that. If it's herringbone LVT, you get someone who does herringbone day in, day out. The standard of finish is consistently higher because the right person is always on the job.
We manage the entire process — from consultation and measurement through supply, delivery, subfloor preparation and installation. One point of contact. No chasing. No confusion about who's responsible for what.
